A system of upstream, midstream, and downstream was employed as the wayfinding strategy for this linear urban space. And the signs were designed as rounded triangle-prisms and delicately scattered in the midst of plants of different heights and species, allowing visitors to read the directions from different angles while wandering along the paths.

The Street Museum of Art is located within the landscape renovation project of Tainan Chinatown Plaza and Hai-an Road and crosses many main roads to form a linear urban space that strings together the diverse living and tourist sceneries of Tainan along the way. Because of its uniqueness, the wayfinding system was designed to split this long passage into three sections: upstream, midstream, and downstream, paying homage to the history of the old Five Channels Port. The three-section design also served to simplify the location information while putting emphasis on two main paths through the city, one of which continues on to The Spring, the new urban area born from the ashes of the demolished Chinatown. The path holds historical significance and marks the past and present of the city.

For the form design, in response to the geometric elements on the landscaping surface, slightly rounded triangles were built into a prism and delicately scattered in the midst of plants of different heights and species. Directional signs and maps adorn different surfaces of the prism, allowing visitors to read the directions from different angles while wandering along the paths.
